In 2012, I would like to:
Make at least another 2 short films.
Begin the process of producing my first feature.
Complete some more short stories and send them for publication.
Have a pitch for a comic book accepted.
See more films.
Visit my friends more.
Take more risks.
Stay focused.
Travel a bit.
In 2011, I:
Graduated with the top classification of degree.
Had a short film accepted into a small festival.
Had some HitRECord work published in both RECollection vol. 1 and Tiny Book of Tiny Stories vol. 1.
Met some lovely HitRECorders at the BFI show, including Joe himself.
Did not get a job.
There’s room for improvement.

Hannah is one of the best actors I’ve worked with, and one of the coolest people I’ve met in the last two years. She’s probably going to be famous soon, so you should all make friends with her now.

First of all, huge rant. But I think it’s very important to give it a read. If you’ve got a several minutes, I would appreciate it if you gave this a read.

films I missed this year.
I have finally got a hold of Drive and Melancholia, and will make time to watch them before New Year. But there were so many films that got a UK release this year that I wanted to see - some that may surprise you that I missed, some that I wanted to see at all - and didn’t, including (in order of release):
The King’s Speech, Season of the Witch (look I just really like Nicolas Cage...
There [Reichenbach Falls] on 4 May 1891 he fell to his death when he was...

HitRECord: and a new earth
I was going to write a long thing about this, but instead I’ll be rather more brief.
None of the videos I have seen so far have hit upon what made Wirrow’s original version work so well. The videos all seem to merely be collections of images with little - if any - connection to the narration (yet without creating any meaning in dissonance). They all use extensive footage of people...
Heard some folks complainin’ ‘bout that show New Girl because Zooey Deschanel be playin’ some super quirky cliché named Jess.
However, I do actually know some girls who are quite a bit like Jess.
If any self-aware man were to be friends with (or even behave like) one of the men from this show, I would hope that they would shoot themselves for being humourless, inarticulate,...
OK I haven’t written a word yet. Let’s try that again.

IDEA: MIRROR ROOM →
ronen-v:
(ala Through The Looking Glass, Vampire Legends)
Build a large victorian house which contains in one room a large mirror over a dormant fireplace.
But the mirror isn’t actually a mirror— it is a hole in the wall which opens into an identical room on the other side, hidden within the architecture of the house.
When someone looks in the mirror, they will see everything the same except...

Not everybody gets corrupted. You have to have a little faith in people.
