The only definition I can find for “scourage” is “refuse water left after scouring”. You may be looking for “scour”, which means to “clean thoroughly”. I wouldn’t argue if you used scour to mean “search”. More likely, you were looking for “forage”: to “search widely for food and provisions”. I ain’t dissin’.
